After a 2-1 lead Indian team is now planning to wrap up the series by taking an unbeatable lead 3-1. Though the team is missing excellent
Skipper Dhoni because of the ban imposed on him, and were dealt a blow when the mighty Yuvraj Singh was also out of the series due to a finger injury. The absence of the skipper MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh doesn’t seem to impact the performance of the Indian Team. The reason is the hosts still have been enough firepower as they go into the fourth One-dayer against Sri Lanka on Thursday. The batting order of India is very decent, a good start at the top will be imperative for them to do well in tomorrow’s do or die match. The present skipper Virender Sehwag and seasoned Sachin Tendulkar will have to stay at the crease for a long period to ease the pressure on the middle-order, which is now dependent on left-handlers Gautam Gambhir who is known as one of the walls of Indian cricket. India under Sehwag dished out a clinical performance in Cuttack, and it never seemed that the side was playing without their regular skipper. Tendulkar had provided a path for India to comfortable win with his controlled batting in Cuttack and the host would hope that the star batsman would yet again come up with an inspiring performance. It will also be a test for India’s bowlers, who will have to restrict the srilankan team to take off the pressure from their batsmen. So far, they have done well in the grounds favoring batsmen but Thursday is the day when they will have to put up good show.
